We had the opportunity to work with Frits-de-vries-architects on a private cabin, nestled away on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada. When they asked if we were up for the challenge of a black and white plaster with a geographic pattern we said “YES” and it was in all caps. We love a challenge and what’s better then applying an Italian lime plaster in 2 opposite spectrums of the colour wheel. We choose 2 different Cadoro Plaster materials for this project and a Natural Bees wax

Mirror Polished Venetian Plaster Fireplace Vancouver

When a client wants to make a fireplace disappear from the field of view, we can think of no better finish than our monolithic high polished Italian lime plaster. We have created this proprietary custom finish to fit into a more modern style of home. With its mirror polished finish without any tool marks makes for a beautiful conversation piece while also creating a timeless feature with durability and uniqueness. The end result is a solid, seamless stone surface that appears to be carved in place. Venetian Plaster Elevator Wall Vancouver

We recently had the opportunity to collaborated with the Architecture firm Frits de Vries working together with the build team MP Construction Having the opportunity to work on this ultra-modern home with exposed steel beams, 1/2 inch reveals at every door, moulding and ceiling. including an ocean view and a small foot print with a glass elevator.

We were brought onto the project to replicate a silex element cast stone tile. By using our skills of colour matching and working closely with the design team. We created a unique Italian Lime plaster finish that emulates a linear movement. We made sure to book match the colours around every corner. This gives the effect of a solid stone slab. When you touch the surface of a polished lime plaster the feeling is soft and smooth, invoking the caress on ones touch.

We created this finish using Carrara Marmorino We tinted 3 varying colours and used them in a layered effect like an artist would a paint medium. By blending the colours together it has created an effect of clouds on the horizon.

White Polished Venetian Plaster Barrel Ceiling Vancouver

A beautiful barrel ceiling in Classic Venetian Plaster .This project required us to level the substrate before we could proceed with the installation. We use old school plastering techniques and anti-fracture membranes to create a solid substrate . We plastered the sconces with the venetian plaster as well. The end result is a seamless finish from edge to edge meeting the moulding on a perfect corner.

Here you can see some the elements we removed in order to streamline the design for the architects. We removed the rounded corners and pop outs above the doors.

West Coast Contemporary Venetian Plaster Application

Modern architecture with matte Tadelakt Venetian plaster concrete looking walls. Venetian Plaster Canada

This Stunning West Coast Contemporary home featured many modern elements including exposed wood beams and stainless steel countertops. The walls were designed using a custom tone limestone plaster that was installed between powder coated steel reveals. The ability to apply the limestone plaster material to unique substrates also made it possible to plaster two doors seamlessly integrated into the wall system that are completely hidden when closed.

The architect for the renovation Kevin O’Leary was the catalyst and idea man. We worked together in designing how the plaster system would work together. Being involved with a project like this from the substrate up to final completion helped insure all the components would flow together seamlessly and any errors could be caught before the project is to far forward. The Tadelakt lime plaster has a smooth velvet touch with a matte finish and subtle texture invoking the touch of your hand as you walk past.

It was equally important the design of the new kitchen respect the quality and intent of the existing architecture, the home originally designed by Seattle-based architect Roland Terry. The new design keeps to a monochromatic colour scheme with a highly crafted use of wood, terrazzo, plaster and steel to mirror the finishes seen elsewhere in the residence.

Versace Vancouver Venetian Plaster Full Interior

Before the Christmas break we tackled one last major project the Versace Vancouver store on Thurlow and Alberni in downtown Vancouver. Getting the opportunity to work on the Versace Vancouver store was a challenge in every aspect. The combination of a legendary brand, working on challenging substrates, and an extremely tight time line to be ready for the Vogue party, made it a truly memorable project. The uniqueness of the interior design was incredibly inspiring. Specifications called for curved wood cabinetry and floating glass that had to be united into a flawless white distress Italian lime plaster sealed with Marsi soap wax to give it a velvety touch and durability. With trades working around the clock, the only option was to be positive and work together as a team. Our team managed to complete almost 30 days of work in under 10 days, those were not your average shifts. If asked to do it again I would not hesitate to say yes! Check the story on Retail Insider

When I was approached for this fireplace in the spring of 2015 I thought to my self wow what a beast, this fireplace would be a killer retrofit from the old style of red brick. The clients had done there home work and wanted an Italian lime plaster for its beauty and versatility in colour choices and texture, we ended up using Cadoro Italian Lime Plaster Intonachio in a two tone custom colour made in house at our studio. From start to completion we handled all the construction.

Tadelakt pillars inside and out, Fibercrown mouldings installed by and painted to resemble limestone. Italian lime plaster inside and out, antique mouldings, stencils, lath and plaster domes finished in silver leaf even the fountain base was finished by our hands. This house will be one to beat in our book of projects, a true masterpiece and an amazing group of people pulled this all together.

Two tone venetian lime plaster exterior

Install all fibercrown foam mouldings on exterior of house including arches windows and base.

Lime paint all mouldings to resemble lime stone

Tri-color Tadelakt lime plaster pillars

-Interior-
Smooth Venetian plaster walls including all ceilings and walls throughout house

Main interior fireplace install fibercrown, float substrate plaster to resemble walls and carved limestone

Plaster pillars and arches in Tadelakt with glaze and wax for an aged look

All domes finished in lath and plaster then decorated with silver leaf.

All wood beams on interior wood grained
